Other comments:  My younger daughter is a music therapist, and I am very interested in the field. Studies consistently demonstrate the healing power of music and the many cognitive, psychological and social benefits of making music with others. Singing with the PCC is not only fun -- it's good for us!

How long have you lived in Pittsburgh?  1968 - Philadelphia and New Jersey prior to college.
Immediate family:  Sister, my nephews and niece and their 7 wonderful children
Occupation/Employment:   Teacher, Pittsburgh Public Schools
Interests/Hobbies:  Loved skiing and riding (I had a horse).  Will hopefully return to both when I retire.  Dinner with good friends, and going to the symphony, opera, ballet and the theater.
Favorite type of music:  Classical and some rock and most folk/bluegrass.
Favorite vacation spot:  Paris and any place with a beach.
Other comments:  What a blessing it is to be able to sing.

Barbara JohnsonBarbara Johnson

Voice Part: I sing soprano, usually second.
How long have you lived in Pittsburgh? I was born and raised here.  I grew up in Franklin Park not far from IUMC, and graduated from North Allegheny. My husband graduated from Norwin. When we got married, we picked a home halfway between our parent's homes, which is how I ended up in Penn Hills.
Immediate family:  My husband, two daughters, a son, and a son-in-law.
Occupation/Employment:  I work for PPG Industries in the Corporate Environment, Health and Safety Department.
Interests/Hobbies:  You mean besides singing?;->  I love doing all sorts of needlework, including quilting, sewing, knitting, crocheting and counted cross-stitch and I row with Steel City Rowing Club.  I was a Girl Scout leader until my daughters graduated.
Favorite type of music: Whatever we are singing at PCC at the moment!
Favorite vacation spot:  The Outer Banks.

Lisa KlemmerLisa Klemmer

Voice Part: Now a soprano II, though have been an alto all the rest of my life!
How long have you lived in Pittsburgh? Since 1994 - 6 years in Wexford (Franklin Park) and 13 years in Pittsburgh
Immediate family:  Son John (and his wife Jen) living in the Philly area, daughter Sasha living in Boston, mother in Concord, MA, sister in Lexington, MA.
Occupation/Employment:  Now happily - if financially unstably - retired.  Formerly assistant middle school librarian.
Interests/Hobbies:  Scottish country dancing, traveling to Scottish country dancing events, taking exercise and tai chi classes at the Y, reading (mostly non-fiction), participating in a book discussion group, doing crossword, Sudoku, cryptogram and jigsaw puzzles, and relaxing on my deck in the summer, lounging in front of a fire with my 2 cats in the winter.
Favorite type of music: Classical, Celtic, folk
Favorite vacation spot:  Martha's Vineyard, though would love to go nearly anywhere in the world!
Other comments:  Being part of the PCC is one of the reasons I am staying in Pittsburgh; I really enjoy working under Susan and socializing with my fellow singers, I am constantly learning vocal techniques to (hopefully) improve my singing, and we get to sing, and most times even create, beautiful music.

Immediate family:  Husband, Phillip, also in PCC; Daughter, Martha lives and works in Streetsboro, OH; Son, Andrew – Senior at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute studying Aeronautical Engineering and in the Navy ROTC Program.
Occupation/Employment:  Administrative Assistant, Visiting Nurses Association, Western Pennsylvania
Interests/Hobbies:  Musical Theater, Stained Glass, Acting, Cooking, Baking
Favorite type of music: Love all music, but especially Big Band music and the music of Boston and ZZ Top – How's that for variety!
Favorite vacation spot:  I love Air and Space Museums, Hawaii
Other comments:  Graduated from Westminster College with Music Degree. I've been the featured vocalist with a Big Band for over 30 years and I sing in my church choir. I'm active in the Musical Theatre Guild of Butler PA. Since 1977 I've acted and sung in over 35 productions. My husband is a private pilot and he's building an airplane….and yes, I will fly in it!

How long have you lived in Pittsburgh? Bill and I moved into our condo in Cranberry Township in March of 2010, and we love it there. I also love the city and think Pittsburgh is one of the most beautiful cities in the country.
Immediate family:  I have 2 sons, 2 daughters-in-law, and 4 granchildren who all live in Warren, Ohio.
Occupation/Employment:  I am a software engineer working at PNC on their online banking website.
Interests/Hobbies:  I work out about 3 times a week and I love to read, but my busy schedule leaves little time for it. 1300 days until retirement...
Favorite type of music: What other type is there besides Classical?
Favorite vacation spot:  Bill and I travel a lot, but the one place we return to every year for Christmas is Marathon in the Florida Keys. One of these years we may not return!

Immediate family:  Husband, Larry (PCC Bass II)and son Steven. We also have a dog and two cats who might as well be our kids.
Occupation/Employment:  Global Project Manager for PPG Industries. My job gives me the opportunity to travel to lots of new places.
Interests/Hobbies:  Besides singing, I've been researching my family history for the last two years. I also enjoy reading (my favorite genre is mystery) and traveling with my husband.
Favorite type of music: I enjoy almost all kinds, but our Pops concert is usually my favorite.
Favorite vacation spot:  Disney World or anyplace near a beach.
